1950s Hybrid
Single Origin: Nicaragua

One of best times for car design was arguably the 50s. From the rise of more powerful V8 engines to the comfort and luxury features like power windows, this era shaped the future of American and global car culture. And hybrids today are another big shift in car culture and consumer preferences, offering a more cost efficient option with sacrificing comfort.
That's where this coffee comes in.
This variety is called Catuai. It’s a hybrid from the Caturra and Mundo Novo parent varieties created in 1949. It promised a high cup score as well as big yield per plant and the ability to plant trees closer together. Since its introduction in the coffee markets, it has been a very popular variety that is being produced in many Central and South American countries. This one in particular from Nicaragua. With its natural (dry) processing this coffee takes on an amazing flavor profile while maintaining a clean up from start to finish.
